Amanda is an LA-born, Chicago-bred actor and educator. On stage, she has had the pleasure of working with Steppenwolf, Geffen Playhouse, Writers Theatre, Court Theatre, Sideshow Theatre Company, and First Floor Theater, where she is a co-founder and company member. In 2019, she was named one of the Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago in Newcity Stage for her work with FFT.

Amanda is a co-owner of Black Box Acting alongside Eric Gerard and Andrew Cutler. Amanda has made her home at Black Box for the better part of a decade, completing her conservatory training in The ACADEMY, as well as the year-long Meisner & Viewpoints Teacher Training program, before assuming ownership of the school in 2018. She now holds the title of Creative Director at Black Box (though she’ll still be in the classroom as much as possible.)

Originally from Los Angeles (go Dodgers), Amanda relocated to Chicago for college and and set down artistic roots there afterwards. She holds degrees in Theater and Performance Studies and English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago.

She is sorry to tell you she genuinely enjoys the taste of Malört.

Amanda can work as a local hire in Los Angeles and New York; her family would be very excited to see her (and also to have her out of the house for work.)
